The male honorable mention choices include Brandon Smith (SBCC football), Ajay Mitchell (UCSB basketball) and Kainoa Glasgow (Carpinteria basketball).

Last week’s award winners, Babacar Pouye of Cate basketball and Jaymi Coronado of Bishop Diego girls basketball, also were recognized at Monday’s SBART Press Luncheon.

The Athlete of the Week award winners are selected by members of the local sports media. Coaches are encouraged to nominate deserving student athletes.

The award is sponsored by the law firm Maho-Prentice.
