The duo was honored at Monday’s Santa Barbara Athletic Round Table Press Luncheon at Harry’s Plaza Cafe.

Raisin and the Royals were active in their opening week, playing seven games and getting out to a 6-1 start to the season.

A lot of that success can be attributed to the play of Raisin, who had over 13 goals on the week, including a six-goal, seven-steal performance in a 19-2 win over Ventura and four steals in a victory over Mater Dei.

Meanwhile, Jevremovic began the week with the team’s lone goal while also leading a strong defensive effort in a 1-1 draw with Pioneer Valley.

He followed that up with an impressive performance over the weekend to help power his team to the Cats and Hounds Tournament championship. He had a regulation goal and scored a goal in the penalty shootouts of the title match victory.

The girls honorable mentions for the week were Charlotte Stoops (Carpinteria Soccer), Amarisse Camargo (Carpinteria Basketball), Carly Letendre (Dos Pueblos Basketball) and Lucy Halaand-Ford (San Marcos Water Polo).

On the other side, the boys honorable mentions were Luke Zuffelato (Santa Barbara Basketball), Marcus Scudder (Cate Basketball), Koji Hefner (San Marcos Basketball) and Ricky Olivo (San Marcos Soccer).

The Athlete of the Week award winners are selected by the local sports media. Coaches are encouraged to nominate deserving athletes. Nominations should be sent to sports@noozhawk.com by Saturday morning, if possible.

The award is sponsored by the law firm of Maho-Prentice.
