Bella Nuno of Dos Pueblos, Hansen Streeter of San Marcos Named Athletes of the Week

The hot hitting of Dos Pueblos softball player Bella Nuno and the pin-point setting of Hansen Streeter of the San Marcos volleyball team earned them Athlete of the Week honors at Monday’s Santa Barbara Athletic Round Table Press Luncheon at Harry’s Plaza Cafe.

In three DP wins last week, Nuno batted 10 for 14 and drove in nine runs Her at-bats included three home runs, two triples and two doubles.

She also earned a pitching save in a 10-7 win over Righetti.

Streeter led San Marcos to a non-league win over a strong Westlake team in three sets and a four-set victory against crosstown rival Dos Pueblos in a Channel League match. He had 40 assists in the Westlake match and 55 without an error against DP.

Over the weekend, Streeter led the Royals to a runner-up finish at the Dos Pueblos Invitational. They lost to Santa Barbara in a one-game final.

The honorable mention choices this week include Ava Carter (San Marcos girls track), Ellie Gleason (Dos Pueblos girls track), Ford Harmon (Santa Barbara High boys volleyball), Ryan Speshyock (Dos Pueblos baseball), Jacob Snodgress (San Marcos boys track) and Jack Stowe (Bishop Diego baseball).
