ATHLETE:
• The candidate must have attended a local high school and attained athletic excellence at one of the greater Santa Barbara area high schools, colleges or universities.
COACH:
• The candidate must have coached at one of the greater Santa Barbara high schools,
colleges or universities. A coach may be elected in the year following retirement from the sport for which he or she is being honored.
COMMUNITY LEADER:
• A non-participant who has contributed to sports in the greater Santa Barbara area.
Significant contributions may be in the form of financial support, extensive time
commitment, or effort beyond the norm. The time period of service or contribution need not be a factor.
SPECIAL ACHIEVEMENT:
• This category shall be for a candidate whose achievements are significant and worthy of honor but do not qualify for inductions into other categories
Contributions to community sports shall be of primary consideration. Participation or
attendance at a local school is not mandatory.
