Daniel Cerda has dedicated 30 years to local high school and community college football as a distinguished official. A member of the Channel Coast Officials Association for 30 years, Cerda received the Dick Olmstead Perpetual Football award from the Channel Coast Football Association for his outstanding dedication and service.
Cerda officiated in six CIF Southern Section Final games and countless CIF playoff contests. He was selected as an official in the prestigious 1994 California Shriner’s North/South All-Star Football game, as well. Cerda also has 10 years experience as a local basketball referee.
A prominent athlete himself, Cerda played football and baseball for Carpinteria High School from 1959-1963. He was the football team captain in 1962 and an All-Tri Valley League catcher, baseball team captain and MVP in 1963.
Cerda attended Santa Barbara City College and is retired from Southern California Edison after more than four decades with the company. He currently lives in Carpinteria and has four children – Christina, Marc, Michele and Elizabeth.
