Bill Levy graduated from San Marcos High School in 1965, but he left his heart in the world of education. His real estate and business ventures are legendary in Santa Barbara. In 1988, he was selected as Santa Barbara Businessman of the Year and he is a members of the Mayor’s Business Council.
He is in the Corporate Circle of Hope of the American Cancer Society, a member of the Fighting Back Task Force for the Council on Alcoholism and Drug Abuse, and an Honorary Member of the Advisory Board of the Arthritis Foundation.
But these contributions are only part of the Bill Levy story. He is most deeply involved in education and has become one of the premier sponsors of school programs in the community. He has no trouble remembering his roots.
The Levy Family Foundation was established to: (promote better education and awareness with special emphasis on athletics, theater and the arts. His contributions have in some way touched thousands. Marymount, Laguna Blanca, Hope School District, our public and private high schools, SBCC and UCSB all benefit from his generosity.
Additionally, he has subsidized the Link Program, SB Public Education Foundation, the D.A.R.E. and BABES program for children in grades 1-3, and has generously supported the High-S Golf Tournament.
Levy was an outstanding golfer at San Marcos High School and is still a golfing enthusiast. Daughters, Renee and Raechel, attend UC Santa Cruz and St. Mary’s Colleges, respectively.
