Lola Trenwith stacked up an impressive number of championships while a tennis star growing up in Santa Barbara.
Trenwith was a four-year varsity player at Santa Barbara High, where she won four Channel League titles and four CIF 4A championships. She added the Channel League Individual Championship to her resume in 1980 and was the Round Table Athlete of the Year for tennis in 1981 and 1982.
A tournament player outside of team tennis, Trenwith won the Girls 16s and Girls 18s titles at the Santa Ana Tennis Open in 1979. In 1980, Trenwith won the Girls 18s title at the San Buenaventura Tennis Tournament. In 1982, Trenwith was a double-champion at the Santa Barbara Tennis Open, winning in both singles and doubles.
The outstanding high school tennis career led her to be inducted into the Santa Barbara High School Tennis Hall of Fame.
Trenwith attended UC Irvine on a full scholarship and graduated in 1986. In her time as an Anteater, Trenwith was named the team’s MVP in 1984 and served as co-captain in 1985.
Trenwith, who married career Army Officer Dan Georgi 22 years ago, has moved nine times in those 22 years and now currently lives in Virginia outside of Washington D.C. While Dan was serving in Hawaii, Trenwith competed on the State of Hawaii Professional Tennis Circuit and won the Hawaii State Open Championship in 1993.
But it’s the four-straight CIF championships while at Santa Barbara High that Trenwith considers the highlight of her athletic career.
Dan and Lola have two daughters, Alexandra, 18, and Olivia, 15.
