The standout high school basketball duo of Santa Barbara High’s Levi Oakes and Dos Pueblos’ Carly Letendre led their teams to big wins last week en route to winning the Santa Barbara Athletic Round Table Athlete of the Week honors.

Letendre was honored at the SBART Women in Sports Luncheon, while Oakes will be awarded at next week’s SBART Press Luncheon.
Oakes has been a go-to scoring option for the Dons all year, and last week was no excuse as they clinched at least a share of the Channel League title with three league victories.
He began the week with 27 points and seven rebounds in a 74-59 rout of Dos Pueblos, followed it up with 24 points in a 76-58 win over Oxnard and ended with 18 points in an 84-57 victory over Ventura.
Meanwhile, Letendre filled up the stat sheet for the Chargers as they put the finishing touches on a strong regular season and earned back-to-back wins over crosstown rivals.
She put up 15 points, seven rebounds and six steals in a 54-19 win over Santa Barbara High, collected 14 points, five rebounds and four steals in a 42-38 victory over San Marcos and tallied 12 points, seven rebounds and six assists in a 50-39 win over Pacifica.
The boys honorable mentions were Brody Green (SM Basketball), Koji Hefner (SM Basketball), Coulter Jay (DP Basketball), George Marin (Cate Soccer), Ricky Olvio (SM Soccer), Ricardo Diaz-Rea (Bishop Soccer) and Inak Phillips (Laguna Soccer).
The girls honorable mentions were Jules Horton (SB Water Polo), Charlotte Raisin (SM Water Polo), Kindah Ahmad-Reda (DP Basketball), Shea Gannon (SB Basketball), Eden Wynne (Bishop Basketball), Hazel Burgess (DP Soccer) and Alina Seidel (DP Soccer).
The Athlete of the Week award winners are selected by the local sports media. Coaches are encouraged to nominate deserving athletes. Nominations should be sent to sports@noozhawk.com by Saturday afternoon, if possible.
