The pairing was honored at the SBART Press Luncheon at Harry’s Plaza Cafe on Monday.

Campos delivered a jaw-dropping bicycle kick golden goal to power the Royals to a 2-1 CIF-SS D5 Quarterfinal victory over Mountain View.

The goal was Campos’ fifth in three playoff games as he led San Marcos on a semifinal postseason run in his senior campaign.

Wynne has also played a critical role in the Cardinals’ playoff run, scoring 10 points in a 47-45 quarterfinal win over Sunny Hills and pouring in a team-high 19 points in a 48-42 semifinal victory over Godinez.

She will look to put up one more big performance as Bishop Diego clashes with Burroughs in the CIF-SS Div. 5 championship game on Saturday at 2 p.m. at Azusa Pacific.

The boys honorable mentions were Brandon Velasquez (DP Wrestling), Nick Salcido (DP Baseball), Ben Wojogbe (DP Volleyball), Maddox Denver (SB Volleyball), John Michael Flint (Bishop Volleyball) and Matteo Burdick (SM Volleyball).

The girls honorable mentions were Vivian Huskins (Carp Track), Harper Bishop (Cate Soccer), Victoria Aldana (SM Lacrosse), Linnea Clapinski (DP Lacrosse) and Emily Morici (DP Softball).

The Athlete of the Week award winners are selected by the local sports media. Coaches are encouraged to nominate deserving athletes. Nominations should be sent to sports@noozhawk.com by Saturday afternoon, if possible.
