Carpinteria football’s Drew Filippini and Dos Pueblos flag football’s Ruby Streatfeild stood out on the gridiron last week on their way to earning the Santa Barbara Athletic Round Table Athlete of the Week honors.


The pairing was honored at Monday’s SBART Press Luncheon at Harry’s Plaza Cafe.
Filippini got his season started with a bang, filling up the stat sheet to help power the Warriors to a 52-7 win over Santa Clara in their season opener.
The senior totaled 72 rushing yards and 177 return yards while scoring two rushing touchdowns, a punt return touchdown and a pick-six.
Meanwhile, Streatfeild was a big play machine for the Chargers last week to secure big Channel League wins over Pacifica and crosstown rival San Marcos.
Streatfeild hauled in a 60-yard touchdown catch in the 21-0 victory over Pacifica and followed that up with seven receptions for 86 yards and a touchdown in a thrilling 15-14 win over the Royals.
The boys honorable mentions were Lucas Neushul (DP Water Polo), Koa Zertuche (DP Water Polo), Will Stuart (SM Water Polo), Christian Yonker (SM Water Polo), Monty Lopez (SB Football) and Isaac Neri (Carp Football).
The girls honorable mentions were Samantha Fallon (SM Volleyball), Cora Loomer (SM Volleyball), Lola Heckman (SB Volleyball), Brooklyn Hedricks (DP Flag Football), Kacey Hurley (DP Flag Football) and Victoria Aldana (SM Flag Football).
