San Marcos student-athletes Sierra Tallman and Carter Cotich turned in impressive individual performances last week to earn the Santa Barbara Athletic Round Table Athlete of the Week honors.

The duo was honored for their Channel League championship showings at Monday’s SBART Press Luncheon at Harry’s Plaza Cafe.
Tallman made history at the Channel League Swim & Dive Championships, breaking a league record and a San Marcos program mark.
She won the 200 IM with a league-record time of 2:02.93 and followed that up by breaking a 45-year-old San Marcos record in the 100 breaststroke with her mark of 1:04.48.
Cotich captured the Channel League Boys Tennis Singles title last week, taking down Beckett McManigal, 6-4, 6-2.
The championship match win capped off an undefeated Channel League season for Cotich, who did not drop a single set all year.
The girls honorable mentions were Lucy Dessert (SM Softball), Kaitlyn Ashby (DP Softball), Liv Plourde (SM Lacrosse), Stella Lawler (DP Lacrosse), Elina Stump (SB Track & Field) and Izzy Scott (Carp Swim/Track & Field).
The boys honorable mentions were Peter Lehman (Cate Baseball), Tyson Deveze (Laguna Volleyball), Liam Knezevic (Laguna Volleyball), Chase Holdren (Santa Barbara Volleyball), Flynn Chenoweth (SB Lacrosse), Ravi Pandya/Lucas Forry (SB Tennis) and Nate Newlove/Harry Su (Cate Tennis).
