Santa Barbara High wrestling’s Jonathan Corona and San Marcos softball’s Solana Sandoval shined last week en route to earning the Santa Barbara Athletic Round Table Athlete of the Week honors.

The duo was honored at Monday’s SBART Press Luncheon at Harry’s Plaza Cafe.
Corona’s standout season continued over the weekend, as he placed 4th at 190 pounds in the CIF Masters Meet to punch his ticket to the CIF State Meet.
With the placement, Corona became the first male wrestler in Santa Barbara High history to reach the CIF State Meet.
Meanwhile, Sandoval opened up the 2025 spring season with a bang, leading the Royals to a pair of victories over the weekend.
The junior went 6-for-10 in three games, including three doubles, one home run and a pair of walks. She drove in a total of six runs as well.
The boys honorable mentions were Patrick Foster (SM Baseball), Mason Crang (SM Baseball), Derek Brunet (DP Baseball), Aiden Alcaraz (Carp Baseball), John Michael Flint (Bishop Volleyball), Wyatt Silver (DP Volleyball) and Luke Zuffelato (SB Basketball).
