Katie Peterson turned in a dominant defensive performance for Dos Pueblos flag football and Asher Smith found plenty of success in the pool for Carpinteria water polo to earn Athlete of the Week honors.
Peterson and Smith were honored at Monday’s Santa Barbara Athletic Round Table Press Luncheon at Harry’s Plaza Cafe.

Dos Pueblos pulled out the 19-8 win, and Peterson led the way with three interceptions to go along with three catches for 42 yards on the offensive side of the ball.
Smith, meanwhile, opened up the week by leading his Warriors squad to a 10-5 win over Santa Barbara High. In that win, Smith scored four goals.
Later in the week, Smith led the Carpinteria offensive attack at the Buenaventura Tournament, where he rattled off 10 total goals.
