She’s averaging over 30 points a game for the Channel League-leading Dons.

Speshyock came up big in a must-win game for Dos Pueblos to stay in the Channel League title chase.

The sophomore right-hander threw a 79-pitch, complete-game three-hitter in a 3-1 victory at co-league leader Santa Barbara High. He struck out eight and came through in the clutch.

With the score 2-1 and the tying run at third base with no outs in the sixth inning, he retired the next three Dons to keep the lead.

The other male athletes considered for the award includes Luke Williams (Bishop Diego tennis and track) and Max Sheldon (San Marcos baseball).

The female honorable mentions choices were Becca Rodriguez (San Marcos soccer) and Allie Fryklund (San Marcos softball).
