Melia Haller is one well-rounded student athlete.
The Santa Barbara High junior, who is being honored as the Santa Barbara Athletic Round Table’s High School Girls Golfer of the Year, excels in several activities.
She is a competitive long-board surfer, an award-winning student film maker from the Santa Barbara International Film Festival and a standout in the classroom. Her a grade point average is a staggering 4.92.
Due to the coronavirus pandemic, the Round Table is recognizing Haller and the other high school and college athletes of the year through a virtual Evening With The Athletes. The award winners are being presented through the Round Table’s social media platforms Twitter, Instagram and Facebook and on the Noozhawk.com Sports Page.

Haller was the No. 1 golfer in the Channel League. She won the individual tournament championship and led the Dons to unbeaten league title and a spot in the CIF Team Divisional Championship.
She earned match medalist honors 13 times with a 9-hole average of 38 and made two holes in one in tournaments.
“Melia is a joy to coach and have as a leader on the team,” said SBHS golf Ryan Throop. “She and Lizzie Goss would consistently challenge each other to become better and continue to play in tournaments year round.”
