Juan Carlos Torres of the Santa Barbara High boys soccer team and Hannah Meyer of San Marcos girls water polo have been named the Santa Barbara Athletic Round Table Athletes of the Week.
Both athletes led their respective teams to CIF-SS playoff victories last week.
The USC-bound Meyer played locked-down defense and scored the game-winning goal in a 5-4 win against Mater Dei in a Division 1 quarterfinal game.
Meyer and the Royals face Santa Ana-Foothill in the semifinals at the Woollett Aquatic Center in Irvine on Wednesday.
Torres came through in crunch time for the Santa Barbara soccer team in a tough Division 1 first-round game against Harvard Westlake.
The senior striker, hobbled by a sore hamstring, scored the game-tying goal in the last minute of regulation and delivered the game winner in overtime for a 3-2 victory. Torres has 16 goals and eight assists this season and 58 goals, 23 assists in his high school career.
