Bri Johnson, Westmont College soccer.

The award winners were honored at Monday’s SBART press luncheon at Harry’s Plaza Cafe.

Hill intercepted two passes, including one in the end zone, to help Santa Barbara prevent Dos Pueblos from scoring an offensive touchdown and take a 31-13 victory on Friday night. The win gave the Dons their first outright Channel League championship since 2001.

Winners of five straight, the 8-2 Dons received a No. 2 seed in the CIF-SS Division 8 football playoffs and will host Gahr in a first-round game on Friday at 7:30 p.m. at San Marcos High.

Johnson scored three goals and had an assist in a pair of Westmont 6-0 victories over Ottawa University of Arizona and Arizona Christian.

The wins gave the Warriors a share of the Golden State Athletic Conference championship and the No. 1 seed for the conference tournament, which they will host next week.

Johnson is Westmont’s goal-scoring leader with 13 and leads the GSAC with 10 goals.

The other female athletes considered for this week’s award include Taylor Brooks (SBCC water polo), Lynsee Voss (UCSB soccer), the doubles team of Grace Fuss and Carol Cai (Cate tennis) and the doubles team of Samantha Forster and Bella Munoz (San Marcos tennis).

The male honorable mention picks include Ben Roach (UCSB soccer), Lalo Alvarado (Westmont soccer) and Jake Ballantine (Santa Barbara High cross country).
