Bishop Diego football player Mike Soracco rushed for 266 yards and two touchdowns in a CIF victory and Jackie Lopez scored two goals in the GSAC Championship game to lift Westmont’s women’s soccer team to the title.
The pair were voted Athletes of the Week by the media and recognized on Monday at the Athletic Round Table press luncheon. Both players were key ingredients to their team’s postseason success last week.
Soracco gained the massive amount of yardage on 36 carries in Bishop Diego’s 53-47 playoff win over Newbury Park.
Lopez finished two long passes from teammate Angela Brown to give the Warriors a stranglehold over Biola in Saturday’s conference championship game.
