Multi-event performers Natasha Feshbach and Alex Valente have been named the Santa Barbara Athletic Round Table Athletes of the Week.
Feshbach does her performing in track & field. The Santa Barbara High junior won three events at the Santa Barbara County Championships: the 100 hurdles, 300 hurdles and long jump. Her 100 hurdles time of 14.53 set a county record.
Valente excels in the swimming pool. At last weekend’s Mt. SAC Meet of Champions, the USC-bound senior set records in winning the 100 butterfly and 100 backstroke and swam on first-place 200 medley and 400 free relay teams. He established meet and pool records in the 100 fly at 47.37 and clocked a meet record of 49.68 in the prelims of the 100 back. He won the final in 49.72. The 400 free relay team set a meet record of 3:07.79.
The honorable mention choices this week include: Siena Wagner (Dos Pueblos softball), Lani Evans (Dos Pueblos softball), Maija Ninness (San Marco swimming), Elysia Mitchell (Westmont track & field), Kevin Gowdy (Santa Barbara High baseball), Cameron Shinn (San Marcos track & field), AV Bennett (Bishop Diego track & field), Bas Van Leersum (SBCC track & field) and Dillon Tate and Shane Bieber (UCSB baseball).
