Carpinteria High junior Duncan Gordon was recognized as a Phil Womble Award recipient at Monday’s Santa Barbara Athletic Round Table press luncheon.
The three-sport athlete has already earned nine varsity letters. More importantly, Gordon is seen by the Carpinteria faculty as a model student-athlete. Duncan holds a 4.17 GPA.
Parents Cliff and Kathleen Gordon and Phil Womble himself were in the audience in support of Duncan.
“He’s admired by his coaches, his teammates, the faculty at Carp High for his loyalty and effort,” reported presenter Dave Pintard.
ABOUT THE AWARD: The Round Table presents the Phil Womble Ethics in Sports Award to student-athletes who demonstrate the highest standards of ethics and sportsmanship.
