ATHLETES OF THE WEEK:
Cate School freshman Teddy Mauze, who scored a hat trick in the Rams’ CIF Division 7 boys soccer championship victory over Mammoth on Saturday, was the male winner. The title was the first in school history for Cate.
The female winner was UCSB basketball player Mekia Valentine. She had a monster game against Cal Poly on Saturday, scoring 27 points, grabbing 20 rebounds and blocking five shots, to lead the Gauchos to a 78-64 win and a share of the Big West regular season title.
