These two very deserving student-athletes, Emily Rottman on the left and David Walker on the right, have led their teams to great starts in the fall sports season.
Rottman, a senior on the Santa Barbara High volleyball team, pounded out 45 kills over two matches, both of which were wins. Her 24-dig, 19-kill performance against Division I-AA champion Santa Margarita helped the Dons make an early statement as they try to defend their Division I-A title this year.
Walker scored three goals for the UCSB men’s soccer team at the West Virginia University/Nike Classic and was named Tournament MVP as the Gauchos picked up a pair of wins. Walker added another goal in a nationally televised game against Rutgers on Friday night.
