Kohler, a senior, scored 14 points with 14 rebounds in first-round CIF win over Yeshva, then tallied 10 points and 10 rebounds in second-round win over Aquinas. Bishop has not been this deep in the playoffs in many years.
LUTHER TARVER-BURKS, LAGUNA BLANCA BASKETBALL
Tarver-Burks, a junior guard, 22 points against No. 11 L.A. Adventist and 20 points against No. 5 Orangewood in two playoff wins. The Owls didn’t even make the playoffs, but Dunn pulled out and Laguna Blanca has since picked up two huge upsets to make the quarterfinals. Tarver-Burks is averaging 20 points over his last six games.
